Thanks to JUMP in downtown Boise, Idaho, Michael the 8th and I, had the opportunity to build a 19’ River Monster. The event has passed but I will continue to update.
We were given three months to bring our creation to the public.
Our mission is to bring respect back to the Boise river and maybe even install a healthy amount of fear.
As a fan of giant monsters, two of the most famous stuck out for me. The way a monster like King Kong could terrify you, swoon you, then tear your heart in half made him my favorite.
But then there is Kong’s rival, Godzilla. An enormous baby throwing a tantrum through a city of building blocks. At the root he was a victim, the embodied karma we brought forth on ourselves after causing nuclear devastation in Japan.
I want Boise to fear the wraith of the river if disrespected and abused. I want people to also care about it as a whole entity, and want to preserve its magnificence. Don’t @*%#! Where you eat cause it might just bite you in the bum.
